Environmental Health

Our registered sanitarians have a wealth of environmental expertise and respond to environmental hazards to improve the overall human environment in Jessamine County. We do inspections in food services, retail markets, hotels and motels, mobile home parks, youth camps, swimming pools, spas, and tattoo studios. We offer food handlers and food managers classes. We work with homeowners and real estate developers to issue permits for on-site (septic) systems and certify septic tank cleaners. We do private water sampling (nominal charge) and handle rabies control and nuisance investigations.
